ECO - LODGE @ KUALA SELANGOR
The site is located at “Kuala Selangor Nature Park”, an hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. The area employs land management strategies and systems that protect the environment from pollution and degradation.
For the purpose of the project, an eco-lodge is a generic term used to denote accommodation that meets the philosophy and principles of eco-tourism. It includes tourist accommodation that requires special care of design, construction and operation so as not to destroy the very resources or qualities that visitors come to experience.
This is an experimental project where much information has been gathered with various analysis and tests being carried out. According to the survey, most of the structures inside the park are constructed in timber so that the impact to the earth is reduced to the minimum possible.
Different design ideas are tested to present the resources and structures inside the park. For example: trees, gazebo, walkway and future extension of the eco-lodge. To conclude, the lodges must be built in harmony and under the complicated forest which doesn’t disturb the natural surroundings.
